Courses

This module from July 12th until August 6th will focus on the background to the Kosovo conflict and the conflict itself; the transforming nature and notion of security in the period following the conflict and the continuing challenges to development in Kosovo. The module, that will last four weeks, offers the following courses:

  • A  Historical Context of Kosovo War that ended in 1999;
  • B  The International Community and Conflict Transitioning from 1999 until 2008; and
  • C  The Lessons of Kosovo, the Changing Nature of Security, and Peace-building in the 21st century.

In addition to the courses there will be a number of guest lecturers from both the international community and the region. Furthermore, field trips to rural Kosovo and cities as Prizren, Gjakova and Mitrovica are planned, as well as to other parts of the region (including Serbia).
