We are setting up the AUK Research Center at a very particular period of social and political developments in Kosova. Kosova is currently going through some highly significant moments for its future. In the next days, months and years, entirely new perspectives and opportunities will be opened to the country, and policy makers will be endowed with additional competences and responsibilities. We face a mixture of challenges starting with goals and efforts to integrate our country in international organizations and institutions; reform of our economic and legal framework and removal of existing barriers towards higher welfare for our citizens and many others. New perspectives will also be offered to the private sector including more opportunities to increase its regional and international competitiveness, greater synergy with foreign companies expected to enter the domestic market, but also higher exposure to competition.

Our Vision as AUK Research Center is a Kosova that is willing and able to face these challenges and opportunities. The Center’s mission will be to support, wherever possible, both the public and private sector in their efforts for better living standards for our fellow citizens.

AUK Research Center is equipped with the necessary human capital with a strong determination to make a contribution to the country’s development. We intend to advance to a valuable and respectable partner for both the public and private sector; for both domestic and international research centers. AUK Research Center wants to send a strong signal that Kosova does not lack experts able to deal also with complex challenges and with potential to provide solutions and technical assistance for highly advanced undertakings.

AUK Research Center will provide its know-how in many specific areas including but not restricted to policy research; public finance; public-private partnerships; completion of the legal framework; quantitative analysis; technical assistance while negotiating international agreements and others. Our experts are also qualified to supply the private sector with highly qualitative assistance in the area of corporate strategy; in their efforts to restructure their corporations or advance their level of competitiveness in international markets.

Our staff are all faculty at American University in Kosova. We promise to conserve our independence from any possible political influence, to supply highest quality and ethical standards and to establish and preserve the image of a national research center “Par excellence”. AUK Research Center promises to protect and advance the high reputation of our American University in Kosova.
