What is the Media Center?
The Media Center is a multimedia production facility that serves the students of the American University in Kosovo. As part of the University Libraries, the center is open for use by any currently enrolled student. We offer equipment for student use including camcorders, cameras and tripods. Our computer stations are equipped with two Apple computers installed with the latest software, such as the Adobe Creative Suite 4 and Final Cut Studio 7.

What can be done in the Media Center?
Available resources in the Center allow students to work in the following areas:

  • Graphic design
  • Web design
  • Photography/ Imaging
  • Video editing and
  • Audio recording


What days is the Media Center open?

Monday - Friday 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM and 12:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Summer hours will vary.

Can I borrow equipment from the Media Center?
AUK students, staff & faculty may borrow equipment upon presentation of their identification card (ID). All Borrowers using the facility are requested to follow Media Center Policies and Procedures and are responsible for returning all equipment in the same condition as it was received.

How can I use Macs?

First, you will need to make a reservation. Reservations can be made in person and should be made at most one week in advance.

What can't be done in The Media Center?
The Media Center does not allow students to install software. However, we are open to your suggestions for additional software and equipment. Also, students should not store their files or work on Media Center computers. Saving work is the sole responsibility of the student.

Can I bring food and drink in the Media Center?
No. Food and drink are not allowed in the Media Center.
